Biography

Melissa is a Director at CEA. Melissa specializes in recruiting and staffing for businesses, foundations, and nonprofit organizations. Her efforts include the design and implementation of staffing strategies—from single placement to building full teams. She brings more than 15 years of consulting and recruiting experience in the conservation, marine, climate change, and philanthropic sectors to the CEA team.

Prior to rejoining CEA in 2008, Melissa ran her own recruiting business. Since 2002, she has served as a board member for Multiplier, a nonprofit organization that accelerates impact for initiatives focused on protecting and fostering a healthy, sustainable, resilient, and equitable world. Earlier in her career, she spent ten years at CEA in a range of positions, including Senior Associate and Business and Financial Manager. As a Senior Associate, she helped clients develop, promote, and negotiate regulatory implementation and air emissions compliance strategies. Melissa has a bachelor’s degree in political science from San Diego State University.

In her free time, Melissa enjoys cooking, travel, working in her garden, and spending time with her family.
