Margot is a Director in CEA’s Environmental Policy & Advocacy group. Since 2012, she’s helped clients in the transportation and renewable energy sectors achieve positive environmental and economic outcomes. She keeps clients briefed on evolving regulatory policies and proceedings, identifies areas of potential agreement on policy among diverse stakeholders, and develops strategies to influence key regulatory and industry decision makers. Her clients include the Association of American Railroads, the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP), NRG Energy, Environmental Defense Fund, and a consortium of electric utilities and technology suppliers developing standards for the energy storage industry.
For the last six years, Margot has staffed a specialized team of thirty legal, government affairs, and engineering professionals from Union Pacific Railroad and BNSF Railway, working to comply with air quality and climate requirements in California.
Prior to joining CEA, Margot worked for the Washington Environmental Council (WEC), a statewide organization that advocates to improve and enforce environmental laws in Washington state. Margot holds a bachelor’s degree in Community, Environment & Planning from the University of Washington.
