Lauren joined CEA in 2022 and works across several of the firm’s environmental issue areas, focusing on climate. She supports clients like the ClimateWorks Foundation, Environmental Defense Fund, and the Jeremy and Hannelore Grantham Environmental Trust through research and analysis of strategic priorities, particularly ocean-based climate solutions and the nexus of land use and climate.
Before joining CEA, Lauren worked with the Alliance for a Sustainable Amazon in Madre de Dios, Peru, where she contributed to long-term field projects in biological monitoring and sustainable tropical agriculture. She also authored an independent report examining the ecological impacts and cultural perspectives of Brazil nut harvesting in the region. Additionally, in partnership with the Red Hook Initiative, she served as a lead in literature review and community outreach for a Columbia University capstone project on community health impacts of public flood resilience infrastructure projects in Red Hook, Brooklyn.
Lauren earned a BA in sustainable development in 2022 from Columbia University, where she received departmental honors for her thesis on the inclusion of local farmer knowledge in index insurance design in rural Guatemala.
