Jill Kauffman Johnson leads the Sustainable Business practice area at CEA. Over the past 15 years, she has worked with clients to assess their operations
to help green supply chains, improve operational efficiency, and reduce costs. As companies seek to reduce their carbon footprint, Jill has led CEA teams in developing
comprehensive strategies for clients. The team quantifies emissions and recommends options for reducing emissions through rigorous cost-benefit analyses.
Jill also has experience working with philanthropic organizations to design and launch new nonprofit initiatives. She currently serves as the Executive Director
for the Chemical Strategies Partnership (CSP). For more than a decade, she has been helping clients analyze their manufacturing operations to improve environmental
and chemical management, reduce the use of hazardous materials, and reduce costs. Jill also co-founded the CMS Forum, a membership arm of CSP, which includes leading
chemical service suppliers, their customers, and other stakeholders. Other nonprofit organizations that Jill has helped to guide their launch include WELL Network
and the Roots of Change (ROC) Fund.
Prior to joining CEA, Jill was the founding Director of the Pacific Coast Regional Office of the Ocean Conservancy (formerly the Center for Marine Conservation). She
also served as a market analyst for recycled plastic at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Jill is the recipient of the 2005 PIBA Award for Outstanding Safety, Health and Environmental Leadership to the Silicon Valley EH&S Community. She holds a Masters in
Public Policy from Harvard University and a B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University.
Jill loves getting out for hiking, biking, fishing, and Giants games with her husband and two sons.
