Heather Thompson is a Principal
leading CEA’s work in conservation program strategy and evaluation.
Her work focuses on developing innovative strategies to provide incentives
for sustainable conservation. Ms. Thompson has worked with many leading
philanthropic foundations in designing and evaluating programmatic investments,
including grant programs and program-related investments. Ms. Thompson
has performed due diligence on a number of environment-related investment
opportunities. In addition, Ms. Thompson has worked with leading international
conservation organizations and multi-national environment funds to develop
specific target-related program strategies and business plans. Her work
has covered a wide spectrum of environmental issues, both domestic and
international, from marine and fisheries related issues to land stewardship
practices and energy production.
Ms. Thompson spends part of her time working with the non-profit Conservation
and Community Investment Forum (CCIF). CCIF researches, identifies
and designs opportunities where targeted private investments can effectively
and profitably stop destructive natural resource practices.
Ms. Thompson holds a MSc in Environmental Economics and Environmental
Management from the University of York, UK and a BS in Ecology from the
University of California, San Diego.
